Vitamins for a healthy skin
Vitamins are naturally-occurring ingredients that human body requires for progress and maintenance of its healthy functions.
Their name comes from Vit (that means life) and Amin (from amine). Vitamin deficiency can make skin lifeless, blotchy,
dry, or oily. Healthy skin needs a large variety of vitamins to keep it young and healthy:
- Vitamin A: Essential for healthy skin. A severe lack or excess intake can lead to dry, rough skin, among other problems.

- Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): Required in body management of allergies, arthritis and asthma.
- Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid): Used for energy production and composition of red blood cells. It helps prevent coronary heart disease.
- Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin): Required to prevent anemia.
- Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid): Plays an essential role in healing wounds and scurvy preventing.
- Vitamin D : Produced in the body by interaction with sun light, it is considered to be an antioxidant and anticarcinogen, and may play a role in pigmentation.
- Vitamin E : It can help prevent free radical damage. It is one of main ingredient of skincare products as a way to fend off this damage.
